Welcome

Yoga for all Abilities

My name is Karen & I am so lucky to be living my dream as a life dedicated yoga teacher, now based in the Swindon area. I am certified, after 3 years of intense study in South Africa, in the classic Iyengar tradition. I have been teaching since 2006 and through inspiration from my own practice have evolved my classes into the Vinyasa (Flow) style, but maintaining the emphasis on Iyengar’s principles of breath, alignment and use of props where necessary.

The studio is designed with beginners in mind, it has all the props necessary to help students achieve the maximum benefit from each pose no matter the range of flexibility. Using my teachings of Iyengar I run frequent beginner classes, workshops and courses. This is the safest way to learn yoga with focus being on strict alignment and breath and the correct use of props.

I like to ensure that each one of my students get the dedication & support they need to begin or enhance their yoga journey. My mission is to pass on my passion, be instrumental in helping improve the mental & physical health and to bring happiness to every one of my students.

I also enjoy letting my hair down and running regular hot yoga, candle flow, power yoga and glow flow classes for those who like to push their limits. I practice hard and I love to challenge those yogi’s who need and want it by experiencing with them the level to which I practice.

I teach Yin classes as a way to bring about full balance to body, mind and soul. It’s the perfect complement  to the more Hatha and Vinyasa styles. I am thrilled to say that I have yet to meet a yogi that does not fall in love with it to some degree.

In addition, I am qualified by Sarah Ramsden to teach sport specific Yoga and run specialised sport yoga classes, I am also Yoga Bugs qualified and am the Teen Yoga ambassador for Swindon teaching at Schools around Wiltshire as well as running a weekly Teen Yoga class.

Some of my other qualifications include: Certified by Sally Parkes to teach Pregnancy Yoga (Pre & Post Natal), Mental Health First Aider Level 2 from Mental Health First Aid England and Reiki (Usui Shiki Ryoho) Master Level.

It helps stretch out those tight, contracted muscles you get from training and racing; allowing your body to better adapt to the training load and therefore preventing injury & allowing you to recover quicker and back training sooner. It builds strength and improves flexibility and range of movement. Yoga is the 4th discipline of triathlon.
